Happy New Year!
Well, it's 2010! I can't believe it's a new year already! Since I've blogged last, I've had alot to happen. I had the opportunity to go to Kenya with Newspring. I could write blog after blog about the trip and what I learned while on the trip. I'm going to do some bullet points of what I learned. And then I will post a few pics from the trip.
-It's all in God's timing & you'll get there when you get there. After a chunk of tire missing, a flight missed, being sent to Dubai instead of Paris, a blown tire, a truck impounded & many more obstacles. It doesn't matter what "schedule" we intend to keep, God has his own schedule for us. It was awesome to see Him move and take us places we would've never gone.
-Our God is so much bigger than we give Him credit! It's amazing at how each of us was placed where He wanted us. If I tried to live where I visited for 10 days, I wouldn't survive. I never saw the kenyans eat food or drink water. And we make food a god by eating 3 meals a day. He equipped them so that they wouldn't burn in the sun. That just blows my mind!!! And even the giraffe have antiseptic in their tongues so that when they eat the ant balls off the trees that are surrounded by thorns, their tongues immediately heal.
-If we allow God to work through us, anything is possible! I'm so not a foot person. I can't stand for someone to touch my feet or to touch anyone else's feet. I was on the jigger removal team. We washed feet with soap, soaked them in a solution, & rubbed them down with vasaline. If I had done this on my own, I would have never touched their feet!!!
These are just a few things that I learned while in Kenya. My next post is a wordless journal post.....stay continued!

Reading....
I'm not an avid reader; however, when I read a book it must captivate me from the beginning. Well, I borrowed a book from a friend that has totally captivated my attention. The name of it is "The Love Languages of God." Wow.....I've just begun this book but my eyes/heart has been opened to so much! I've always struggled with the fact that I can't sit and read God's word for more than 10 minutes. I always look down on myself for not being able to sit for hours and be captivated by His Word. Don't get me wrong, because there are times that I can sit and do this, but for the majority of the time, I can't. He revealed to me through this book that He speaks to us through our very own love language. I can sit for hours listening to songs and praising Him in the car. I also praise Him through servanthood. This is how He speaks to me very clearly. So what is your love language? Does He speak to you through scripture? Does He speak to you through servanthood? Does he speak to you through songs?

Photo Journal from this past week
OOOpppps
This feels oh not so good!
Really?

This was a breathe taking picture taking one evening as the sun was setting. I was cooking dinner and looked out the window! Wow.....what an unbelievable sight to behold. It absolutely blows my mind at what an amazing artist my Heavenly Father is. He can create scenes & colors like I've never seen. Although this picture is breathe taking, it can never fully show the beauty that He has created.
